Desert Gateway Dirt Bike Tours and Coastal Gateway Tours are your answer to guided and self-guided tours to Australia’s most unique and diverse regions. Established in 2022, Steve Emery Director, has created an itinerary of a lifetime for those who share his passion for exploring both the Outback and contrasting coastal areas of South East Queensland. But it’s not all about the landscape, it’s about adventure, exploration, mateship and giving over to the thrill of the adrenaline rush.

Desert Gateway Dirt Bike Tours  is based in Thargomindah, the gateway to the desert! The Emery family history is well entrenched in the Bulloo Shire area with Steve’s grandparents (Steven “Bub Emery & Margaret Emery) living in Thargomindah and being a large part of the community in the 1930’s & 40’s before moving to Cunnamulla. Steve’s Father Tom continued to traverse the Cunnamulla/Thargomindah country as he delivered mail and carted wool on the Cunnamulla to Hungerford run.

While many of the Emery’s have relocated from the region, extended family members remain and are very much at the heart of all activities that the outback has to offer. Despite living on the Sunshine Coast, Steve’s passion for dirt bikes has never died. It makes perfect sense that Steve brings people back to the region he will always call home. DGT provides riders with a fully guided tour experience to truly get down and dirty in the outback.

Coastal Gateway Tours is located on the Sunshine Coast, which is the gateway to the most spectacular coastal regions of the Sunshine and Fraser Coast. K’gari, formerly known as Fraser Island is well known for its landscape, flora, fauna and ecosystems. It is steeped in history, making it unique but known to the world. DIY your journey from Rainbow Beach and the Cooloola Coast and explore the many iconic destinations such as Lake Mackenzie, Eli Creek, Pile Creek, Maheno Shipwreck, Champagne Pools. Enjoy the challenge of the forestry trails and cool off in the crystal clear waters of the expansive coastal beaches.

Inland of the Sunshine Coast is certainly worth adventuring, with wicked stretches of forest tracks, water holes and great places to stop for a pub feed. Should you want to camp or spend a night CGT can hook you up with the many campsites or farm stays. Adventure starts but never ends on trails in Imbil, Glasshouse Mountains, Maleny, Montville and The Mary Valley. The list goes on! Navigate your chosen ride using our mapped courses, or throw the hope of adventure to the wind and navigate your own course.
